long ride home

It's been another minute. . . .I guess I forgot that I was going to start writing here on a more regular basis. oops.

Happy (v. belated) New Years to all you out there that may or may not stumble by this place. I know that I'm late, but hey, better late than never. Right? I'm pretty sure that I still have some Christmas cards lying around that I meant to send -- so I suppose that I'm not that late on a new year's blessing to you all. heh.

You know, I'm not really even sure why I'm writing here today. I feel a little guilty - like I'm sending out one of those mass emails to all my friends just to let them know that I still care but not enough to write each one individually. I suppose that I just don't have much going on and very little to say. Life barrells on, runaway trains, and all that jazz.

So, I've been reading Anne LaMott and listening to Patty Griffin (the book was a christmas gift and the record a personal indulgence.) They're both proving therapeutic -- clearing my head with each turn of the page and each new song. Both women are so vibrant, beautiful, and seemingly indifferent to ideas of convention. As it turns out, it's exactly what I needed.

And a last minute thanks to those of you who have taken a moment to check up with me during my month absence from the web. I really appreciate you folks.

I've had some time to think about you
And watch the sun set like a stone
I've had some time to think about you
On the long ride home
